Ahh the age of machines, yep we’re in it.
Technology has taken over. A few decades ago, when someone talked about technology, you thought about Orwell’s novel 1984, science fiction movies about machines and artificial intelligence taking over the world, or the beloved cartoon sitcom family, The Jetson’s. But today, technology has become an integral part of society upon which the majority of us depend. And it’s smart! We live in a world of smart everythings- phones, watches, televisions, cars, homes – any device or system that can analyze, predict or manipulate data in one way or another.
Technology is the knowledge and use of science in industry to invent things that are useful, solve problems, and better processes. Forever to be a controversial subject of debate, technology has enabled incredible innovation, grows exponentially and will continue to transform the world as we know it.

Now, to the point; have you met It’s technology was originally created to answer Jeopardy questions, but has since become a prime candidate for medical diagnostics.
Since last reported by Forbes, Watson has learned more than, “605,000 pieces of medical evidence, 2 million pages of text, 25,000 training cases and had the assist of 14,700 clinician hours fine-tuning its decision accuracy. “
The technology isn’t meant to replace doctors, but rather streamline the disease identification process. Seriously, there is no human being that can read billions of pages of medical information in a matter of seconds! With 1 in 20 adults in the U.S. being misdiagnosed annually according to studies, the FDA’s acceptance of Watson is a game changer for the medical community- especially the rare disease community, and a beacon of hope for patients.
