Cancer may have been called the Emperor of all Maladies but FOP-Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva is certainly the King. We place it lower only because it affects so few; one in every two million.
Currently there are only 800 known cases and until recently, there has been very little progress in finding treatment for this progressive, debilitating and painful disease. Finally though, there is some progress to report on a clinical trial. Learn more here.
