Spring is for Setting World Records and Raising ALD Awareness

This week is a small win for adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) awareness and for these mini-bikers.

Kevin Bean’re and Tom Ford are mini-biking across the country, from Florida to California, to raise awareness around adrenoleukodystrophy, a deadly genetic disease that is more common in boys and men than females.

Kevin Bean’re’s family friend had a young son named Aidan Jack Seeger. He tragically succumbed to complications of ALD at the young age of seven. Bean’re and Ford are holding fundraisers for Jack’s charity, the Aidan Jack Seeger Foundation.

The thing about ALD is, with newborn screening and swift diagnosis, the disease can be halted with treatment. That’s what Aidan’s foundation advocates for: ALD screening in every state, research funding for treatment and a cure, and increased awareness, knowledge and information around ALD.

Bean’re and Ford are also aiming to set a Guinness World Record for mini-bike travel. But more importantly, they’re honored to be able to raise funds for the Aidan Jack Seeger Foundation and for all of those affected by ALD.
