#Whatareyouthankfulfor: Bonnie’s Message on Giving Thanks

For many like myself, the holidays can be bittersweet, and sometimes hard.

Everyday, I am thankful for the people who are a part of my life.

Sometimes though, I cannot help to remember those who are no longer with me. I have a rather sad family history: my father died at 52, eight days before my wedding; my husband’s father died at the age of 48. With that being said, I am so grateful to have seen my  daughter happily married with two beautiful children, my grandchildren.

My friend and husband had bypass surgery 28 years ago.

I am so thankful that we have had 47 years together.

I never thought it would have been possible 28 years ago.

I am so grateful that I have not developed Alzheimer’s as my mother had by the time she was my age.

Listen, life is so short; too short to not be grateful for what we do have. #IAmThankful that God has seen fit to watch over me, protect me through two bouts of cancer, and let me give thanks for all of the people who bring me happiness. I am truly a blessed person, and so are you!

Wishing all of my friends and Patient Worthy a wonderful Thanksgiving.
