Toronto street artist, Victor Fraser, is on a mission—and that mission recently took him to Paris.
In the wake of the November 2015 terrorist attacks that left 130 dead and 360 injured, Fraser decided that he and other artists should “converge on Paris and un-terrorize the city with music, and laughter, and art.” He traded services with one of his clients to score an airline ticket so that he could bring his message (and chalks!) to the streets of Paris in an effort to help the city heal.
Fraser suffers from ankylosing spondylitis, an arthritic condition that typically affects the lower spine, but can also involve other joints.
As it progresses, spinal disks can fuse together. It causes chronic pain and eventually limits the patient’s mobility. But that hasn’t stopped Fraser from presenting his art to the thousands of people who are going about their day.
Now back in Toronto, Fraser is raising funds so that he can take time off to heal. He explained that he has suffered for more than 20 years with AS, and simply needs to take a break. His GoFundMe page is called “WhatsVictorUpTo.” If you would like to contribute, just follow the link.
