Teenager Fights Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer diagnosis is extremely rare in women under the age of 20, yet Kronenwetter teenager, Khiana Bradsaw, was diagnosed at the young age of 13-years-old, reports ABC 9 News North Central Wisconsin. What started as a normal stomachache, turned into a doctor visit and some very devastating news. Natalie, Khiana’s mother, shared that she was diagnosed with two different cancers, and both are extremely rare. It was excruciating for Natalie and their family to hear these words. Quickly after her diagnosis, her ovary had to be removed and chemotherapy commenced.

Like anyone could imagine, it has been tough on Khiana. She tries to keep her spirits up through creative activities whenever she has the time and energy. Natalie shares that at times, Khiana has wanted to give up, but she stays strong and endures. The hardest part is not knowing what the outcome with be, as she might not survive. Khiana shares that she doesn’t think much about what could happen and just tries to live in the moment.

Talking about the situation can be sensitive and naturally, brings out all sorts of emotions for the Bradsaw family. As Natalie shares, “it is the absolute suckiest” but she continues to endure being the strongest person she knows. While it’s hard to talk about being on the border of tears, once the Bradsaw’s start their family game night, it’s all smiles and laughter.
