I am a student at UConn pursuing a Bachelors in Biological Sciences and am passionate about the rare disease community. I personally have a rare disease called Alkaptonuria (AKU) which was actually the first inherited genetic disease discovered! Cool! It's also known as Black Bone Disease (which is self explanatory). I want to be able to make a difference for all rare disease patients, and hope to get my Masters in Genetic Counselling. Funny story I chose Genetics as my passion before I knew I even had a genetic disease myself, ha! Cosmic fate one could say. Let's get to work!
