Let’s be real… it personally offends me that Raptor Pharmaceuticals’ logo isn’t a velociraptor. Like, that is a missed golden opportunity. I’m just saying… there are a lot of drugs out there, all of which want your money. I’m more likely to invest my dolla bills wherever medium-sized, bad-ass dinosaurs are involved.
You know who looks like a velociraptor? Clint Eastwood.
Anyway, let’s talk about drugs. You may have heard of the drug known as PROCYSBI®, a prescription medicine used to treat a medical condition called nephropathic cystinosis, in adults and children 2 years of age and older.
Well, so far, it’s been FDA-approved in the U.S. and Europe. NOW IT’S CANADA’S TURN! Way to be late to the game, CANADA. Typical.
PROCYSBI is currently under Priority Review by Health Canada, which as you might have guessed, is in Canada. At the moment, there aren’t any “cystine depleting” medications in Canada, but it looks like there’s hope on the horizon for Canadians living with cystinosis!
GO CANADA, GO!
