A Side Effect of Lyme Treatment Could Be Finding Your Spirit Animal

The side effects of Lyme disease treatment can be incredibly painful.

One side effect is called herxing, also known as the Herxheimer Reaction, which is the body’s reaction to detoxification. This could last from a few days to a couple of weeks. Herxing can be almost as bad as Lyme disease itself.

The symptoms of this could include flu-like symptoms, migraines, joint and muscle pain, body aches, sore throat, chills, and/or nausea. After going through a few days of this, people may start to question why they are putting themselves through such things. But in the end it is a good sign that the pathogens are being destroyed. All one can do really is wait it out. When waiting for your body to get through this mess, your brain and emotions could be taken to a level they’ve never seen before.

See some of Jessica Gladwell’s experiences with the side effects of Lyme disease here. One of the less painful but equally confusing ones was finding what she thought to be her spirit animal.
