When Stephen was growing up, he had no idea he’d one day be diagnosed with Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID).
As a kid, he had a lot of trouble with ear and sinus problems. Staying healthy was always a struggle for him, and he was constantly on antibiotics.
Stephen thought having joint pain was normal, and because he wanted to fit in with his peers, he didn’t mention what he was going through to anyone.
In 2005, everything changed; his panic attacks increased and he nearly became housebound.
About 6 years later, Stephen was finally diagnosed with CVID after he had gall bladder surgery.
