“BrainStorming” New Technologies for ALS Treatment

BrainStorm Cell Therapeutics Inc. is looking to begin producing NurOwn® adult stem cells for their phase III clinical study on ALS patients. The therapeutic company is hoping that the development of this new technology will be helpful in finding a more effective treatment for patients with ALS.

Director of manufacturing at the Center for Biomedicine and Genetics Dr. Joseph Gold discussed the plans and hopes for the new cell technology: “BrainStorm’s NurOwn technology represents an innovative approach to treating ALS. City of Hope is excited to play a role in treating this devastating disease.”

Excitingly, these two new developments are well underway, and they will presumably provide opportunity for greater advancement in the ALS world of research and treatment. Maybe that cold douse of ice bucket challenge water is now paying off, after all.
