Winning Love Tactics with Narcolepsy

What are the reasons couples break up? When our relationships fail, we sometimes wonder if there was something we could have done to save them—or if there were warning signs we could have heeded to get out sooner. While we don’t always notice these signals as a relationship begins to take a nose-dive, sometimes we can look back afterward and determine what went wrong.

And if we’re good learners, perhaps we can even spot the same problem if it arises again in the future. But, what if the end of a relationship stems from circumstances or a condition out of one’s control—a condition like narcolepsy.

Narcolepsy is a sleep disorder characterized by excessive sleepiness, sleep paralysis, hallucinations, and in some cases episodes of cataplexy (partial or total loss of muscle control, often triggered by a strong emotion such as laughter).

And for one young woman from the UK, her narcoleptic episodes were the deal breaker between her and her then-boyfriend.

Breaking up is hard to do… until it’s not.

No one likes to see a good thing end. However, a good thing like a solid relationship requires a lot of hard work and patience. Sometimes, despite frantic attempts to revive them, relationships simply take their last breath and die.

For Annabelle Hutt and her life with narcolepsy, the end of one relationship flips into an even better situation of finding love again. Click here to read more.

We’ve grown up to expect a lot of things to turn out a certain way. But like the weather and weather reports, you can’t count on sunny and bright all the time.

If we can’t expect good weather, we sure can’t expect a perfect love or a partner to behave a certain way.

The way to be happy in and out of relationships is to let go of expectations and conditions.

Our ideal love interest isn’t a certain height, a certain profession, or a specific personality—or even free from certain disorders or diseases.

Being open to the magic of possibilities makes a difference.
