Cancer Survivors and Best Friends Spread Joy

The holidays are a little extra special for best friends Diana Caldon and Stephanie Smith. As optimistic cancer survivors, these two refuse to let holidays get away from them and they do anything in their power to spread joy, reports DailyMiner. From a strange encounter connected through an ex-boyfriend in 2006, the two became inseparable.
Diana is a fighter having beaten THREE different types of cancers: thyroid cancer, ovarian cancer, and breast cancer. It’s been an unbelievable journey for her and ever-so life changing. Besides the birth of her children, she claims getting cancer was the greatest experience of her life, as it completely changed her perspective. She now wakes up every day ready to be happy and live life to the fullest. She believes too many people wake up living to die.

Stephanie was told when she had stage 4 melanoma cancer in 2008 that she would die in ONE month. Like Diana, she fought and ten years later, she’s still here. Stephanie had a different approach for fighting, she chose to no longer undergo chemotherapy or radiation anymore and focus on a more holistic approach. She focused on diet, no longer eating meat, avoiding drinking anything out of a plastic bottle and other strategies. Dietary changes along with prayer and faith, she beat it.

These two were unstoppable by themselves, and now together they are a force of JOYFUL nature. They both treasure holidays and love to get dressed up in crazy costumes. Often these two are found in elf costumes around Christmas, spreading Christmas joy through smiles and laughter. Getting that type of response from people is the greatest gift they could receive and give. Like they say, it’s free!

Diana and Stephanie are adamant about living life to the fullest and they want others to live that way as well. They say they will take their costumes to the grave, and probably get kicked out of their nursing home prior to that. This lovable and hilarious duo are here to stay.
