When Anorexia was Actually Addison’s Disease

A Missouri girl was diagnosed with Addison’s disease after being first diagnosed with anorexia.  Eventually she ended up in the hospital with headaches, vomiting and stroke-like symptoms. Addison’s disease is caused from adrenal insufficiency. Adrenal glands secrete stabilizing hormones, and if the adrenal glands are not working, symptoms include nausea, decreased appetite, weight loss, nausea, vomiting and fatigue.
