Glial Cell Immaturity Cause of Huntington’s Disease

University of Copenhagen researchers have been studying the cause of Huntington’s disease in order to potentially develop a treatment.  They have determined that failure of glial cell maturation is a defining factor in patients with Huntington’s disease.  This causes the behavioral changes and motor function changes that occur in Huntington’s disease patients.  Through ongoing research, there may be potential for glial cell transplantation as a Huntington’s disease treatment.
