Roll Out the Red Carpet! Preteen Battling Sickle Cell Anemia Goes to the Grammy Awards

12-year-old Sarah Stone has had sickle cell anemia for as long as she can remember.

She experiences a lot of pain, takes lots of medicines and has had many surgeries. Often times, Sarah has had to stay at home after surgery and cannot attend school. Sarah’s mother says that she has been through a lot.

But none of that has even come close to extinguishing her love of music and singing.

So it was a REALLY big deal when Sarah and her family found out that, thanks to non-profit organizations that help make wishes come true, Sarah and her mother would get to go to the Grammy Awards.

This was perfect for Sarah, who dreams of being a famous singer one day. But if she doesn’t, she is happy to say she has been to the Grammy Awards. Sarah’s mother was glad that she received the call at a time when Sarah was feeling good and strong.

The trip was the Wisconsinites first time visiting sunny California. They got to enjoy the VIP treatment. They were invited to special dinners and tours.  Sarah was constantly on the lookout for celebrities during their trip.

Such an exciting time for a very deserving young lady–one she and her mother will never forget. Looks like Sarah’s wish came true!
