5 Lessons This Cystic Fibrosis Mom is Bringing to 2016

The Corr family has had a tough year. Tough, sure, but equally as joyous. They’ve been adjusting to life with their year oldest daughter Harriet.

Soon after Harriet was born came news the family never expected—their daughter had Cystic Fibrosis (CF).

However, along the way, they’ve learned a lesson or two…or 10. And now, Harriet’s Mom, is wishing everyone a Happy Christmas from her blog, Calm in the Chaos.

Here’s her best advice as we all prepare to enter the New Year:

  1. Thank the people who support you. Over and over and over again. Without them, your journey would be more difficult and not as sweet.
  2. Pay attention to the “little things.” Enjoy each laugh, family dinner, and good grade.
  3. Don’t forget what you’re passionate about. Harriet’s mom relentlessly fundraises for CF and will continue to do so throughout 2016. A small group of people working together can make a big difference.
  4. Get creative. In the case of the Corr family (who spend a great deal of their time fundraising for CF), they got innovative when it became uncomfortable to ask people for money. So they learned that collecting used stamps can raise money for CF. To date, they’ve raised nearly $1,500 through these stamps!
  5. Count your blessings. Consider the things in your life to be thankful for—kind nurses, messages from old friends, or snugging your family tightly.
