When my mother was diagnosed with a terminal form of breast cancer, initially she needed some time to mediate and take it all in. But the very next week after her diagnosis, she immediately took things into her own hands and realized that there was a larger purpose to her battle ahead.
Find the purpose behind your rare disease and go with it. Purpose comes in many forms, whether it be helping others cope with their own battles or write a book to create awareness. Whatever it may be, make it your own, own it and run with it!
