Happiness and Kindness on Independence Day

Happiness and Kindness on Independence Day

We are lucky enough to live in a country where it is our right to pursue our happiness. Lately though, everyone seems so unhappy and easily offended. It seems like almost anything you say or do is under a magnifying glass of scrutiny by the world. People can’t even park in a handicapped spot without getting a hate letter if they don’t look sick enough. One of my favorite quotes is,

“Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.” -Ian Maclaren

Not everyone’s suffering is so apparent. Especially those with rare diseases. Some days their pursuit of happiness is just to try to live as normal as possible, and hopefully find a cure, or relief. Sometimes all they can do is grin and bear the pain no one sees.

So, spread a little kindness this Independence Day Week (and every week) to your fellow pursuers of happiness!
