Broadway Belts for Pulmonary Fibrosis is a yearly musical and comedy fundraiser to fight pulmonary fibrosis (PF).

Created 7 years ago to honor the memory of Associated Press theater critic Michael Kuchwara, who died from PF in 2010, this year’s event will take place February 27th at the Edison Ballroom in New York, New York.

Pulmonary fibrosis is an incurable lung disease–and most people only live two or three years after receiving the diagnosis. Many September 11th World Trade Center first responders developed the disease. The fundraiser seeks to provide funding for a cure.

This year, the actress and comedian Julie Halston will be hosting this awesome event. This event means a lot to the host. Her husband Ralph Howard, was diagnosed with this disease. Later, Howard did receive a lung transplant. Halston states that even though there has been an increase in treatment since 2010, they are continuing to fight for a cure. No one should have to suffer from this terrible disease.

The headliners are Stephanie J. Block, Mandy Gonzalez, Mario Cantone, Robert Creighton and Randy Graff. However, many more will perform. Furthermore, tickets are $100 for general admissions and $300 for premium seating. Click here to purchase a ticket.
