Kids Wish Network Makes Dreams Come True for Child with Hydrocephalus

The Kids Wish Network (KWN) works to provide positive experiences for children age 3 to 18 who are living with life-threatening conditions. With the help of various sponsors, they are able to give these individuals and their families experiences and memories that they might not otherwise be able to have. Wishes can range from theme park visits to meeting their favorite celebrity to a trip for their whole family. The ultimate goal is to give children a break from their normal medical routine by providing a joyful experience they can share with those closest to them.

In December, KWN gave Angel Jenkins the experience of a lifetime. The young girl has spina bifida and hydrocephalus causing her to be wheelchair bound. But despite her conditions, in many ways she’s just like a normal kid. She absolutely loves music, her favorite being contemporary Christian music. Her favorite artist of all time? Chris Tomlin.

With the help of KWN, Angel and her family were able to hear him sing live.

Angel’s wish

With the help of KWN, Angel was able to hear Chris Tomlin play her favorite song, How Great Is Our God. She and her family attended his concert in Charleston, South Carolina and spent a night in the Holiday Inn Express Hotel. Thanks to sponsors, they were also able to enjoy a nice dinner out at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. In addition, they were invited to the Holiday Festival of Lights.
