Do You Have What It Takes To Complete Your Dystonia Destiny?

Do you want to be part of cervical dystonia history? Do you want to actually get paid to take an injection to treat your symptoms?

C’mon, you know the answer is yes!

Well, the Wake Forest Baptist Health Center in Winston-Salem, NC will give you that chance!

They’re organizing a new clinical trial that studies the use of botulinum toxin for injections (don’t try to say that 10 times fast; just stick to calling it Botox) in adults who have isolated cervical dystonia.

The best part? You’ll get $650 for making every visit!

It’s not often you get paid to get treatment for dystonia…usually, you’re the one who has to pay a ridiculous amount to get basic treatment just to function.

So, what makes this clinical trial different from others?

  • Well, for one, it’s testing a new type of botulinum toxin to see how effective it will be. On the upside, botulinum toxins have been used to treat dystonia for years, so at least you won’t be putting something completely new and unstudied into your body.
  • Second, it will only be accepting people who have isolated cervical dystonia. We know that dystonia can manifest in many ways, but this clinical trial is only interested in this specific type.
  • And lastly, this trial has very specific eligibility criteria (though don’t they all?), which you can check out here.

If you’ve never participated in a clinical trial, they involve a bit more than just regular office visits. This one requires regular blood work, filling out questionnaires, and telephone calls.

If you’re ready to get paid to make history, check out the clinical trial here!

And if you’re not eligible, or this clinical trial just isn’t doing it for you, check out the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation for ways to help lower the cost of dystonia treatment.
