Exciting news from the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia: HOBSCOTCH is coming to Virginia

That’s right- HOBSCOTCH NOT hopscotch, and you don’t need a sidewalk and chalk to play it.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia (EFVA) has been looking out for you, and applied and got funding for a grant for HOBSCOTCH, a program that the NIH evaluated and said:

“The HOBSCOTCH program significantly improved quality of life and appeared to be an effective intervention to address cognitive dysfunction in adults with epilepsy.”

Seizures try to steal- Hobscotch gives it back. Hobscotch stands for Home Based Self-Management and Cognitive training Changing Lives. You are in control and your participation and your solutions are supported and guided by a trained coach.

What will you get:

  • Skills to help improve your memory
  • Ideas to help you compensate when your brain does not want to cooperate
  • Activities that are fun, calming, and helpful
  • Problem solving strategies
  • A trained coach to help you along the way

How do you get started on this free program? Email one of the regional directors:

    [email protected]  or  [email protected]

Give them your name and phone number (land line if you still have one is best). They will get you enrolled and on your way to a better quality of life!
