Mark your calendars because World Parkinson’s Day is here!!
Winter is (mostly) over and spring is hot (emphasis on hot) on it’s heels! And, of course, April showers means we’re getting ready to celebrate World Parkinson’s Day!
World Parkinson’s Day is today, April 11, 2017 and we want to know what you’re doing to mark the occasion!
It is important to bring worldwide awareness to Parkinson’s disease. World Parkinson’s Day can aid in helping people become more aware of how this condition affect the major motor symptoms of each person. Not only that, but it raises awareness about how it affects a person’s daily living.
Likewise, this day of awareness can teach others about the non motor symptoms related to Parkinson’s. Having a difficult time planning and carrying out daily activities is an example of a non motor symptom.
World Parkinson’s Day provides a chance to raise money, create research projects, and increase resources for this disease that effects millions of people around the world.
