Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) Circle Hits Back Hard

A health crisis—just like epidermolysis bullosa (EB)—is different for everyone.

But, most have one thing in common: Bad news blindsides us. We take a hit—a hard one at that. When we’re down without strength to lift or stand on our own, we need support—help from our circle. You know the one. The roll call of family, friends, and more who put us back together when we come undone, and epidermolysis bullosa has a host of complications that rock our core.

EB complications include:

  • Infection
  • Sepsis
  • Deformities
  • Malnutrition and anemia
  • Dehydration
  • Constipation
  • Eye disorders
  • Skin cancer
  • Death

With a list like that, our circle is paramount.

We’re always creating an intricate network of people in our lives; friends and/or family who are there for us in times of trouble, sorrow, and celebration. Those friends take an interest in us and our lives because we share common threads that bind us to one another. They are people we value in our lives who help us achieve our dreams or lend a hand when we are in need. We can count on them to be there for us.

If you or someone you love is living with EB, then you may be missing a key team player, The Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association (DEBRA) of America. It’s a group dedicated to the support families struggling with epidermolysis bullosa (EB). Check it out.
