Can you believe it? Patient Worthy has made it to the big times by winning an award for being the best patient-centric consumer website. We’re stoked! But here’s what really counts:

None of this would have been possible without you, our dear readers and contributors.

We know that illnesses are sometimes hard to live with. We know that when you or a loved-one are affected, you have many different needs: Of course you want medical attention, but you also want to connect with others, share your experience, raise awareness, and you need levity to lighten the burden of the disease. We don’t have doctors here at Patient Worthy, but

we do have a community of readers and contributors who agree that a bit of education and a bit of humor goes a long way in giving back some modicum of normalcy to patients and their loved-ones.

So when a pharma publication honors us with an award, the thing that is recognized is you. It’s the dignity that comes with being educated, outspoken, and assertive when it comes to your condition. The dignity of looking fate in the eye and having a good laugh about the ups and downs that life has chosen to put in all of our paths. From the bottom of our hearts: Thank you for being a part of this wonderful group of people!

James grew up in Switzerland, in a little town on a little lake among the foothills of the Alps. His very English first name is owed to his Australian mother. During university, James worked as a freelance journalist covering local news in the little country's capital. Once he completed his studies in political science and media, James moved to Sydney where he joined a media monitoring company. He remained in the media monitoring industry even after his return to Switzerland. Eventually, love brought James to America, where he joined the Patient Worthy editorial team.
