How to Contribute to Spinal Muscular Atrophy Awareness this Fall

One of my favorite places to visit is Savannah, Georgia. And what better reason to visit than an spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) charity event?
Who: SMA Angels
What: SMA Angels Charity Ball
When: Saturday, September 23, 2017
Where: Savannah Marriott Riverfront
Why: Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a devastating, rare inherited disorder that causes muscle weakness and degeneration. There are four types of spinal muscular atrophy and currently there is no known cure for any of them.
SMA Angels is an all volunteer charity whose aim is to raise awareness, and money, toward research for treatment and a cure for SMA. The almost twenty-year-old charity was started when twins Cassidy and Skylar Swanson were diagnosed with the severest form of SMA.
