Nothing puts “fun” in a fundraiser than holding that event at Walt Disney World. For the past 25 years, Disney has hosted an annual marathon to help support hundreds of worthy causes.
This year, members of the MAGIC Foundation are traveling to the Magic Kingdom to do some hocus pocus for kids with hypophosphatasia (HPP) and other metabolic diseases and endocrine disorders.
Since 1989, the MAGIC Foundation has supported services for the families of children afflicted with a wide variety of chronic and/or critical disorders, syndromes, and diseases that affect a child’s growth, including hypophosphatasia.
Their motto is: Children have a short time to grow and a lifetime to live with the results! Together we are MAGIC.
Of course those resources require funding and every year, members of Team Magic help raise dollars and awareness for children with metabolic disorders, including HPP, Turner Syndrome, Cushing Syndrome and more. And what better place to make dreams come true than Walt Disney World?
The 25th Annual Walt Disney World® Marathon will be held on January 7, 2018 beginning at 5 p.m. at Epcot. The magical course includes runs through the Magic Kingdom® Park, home of favorite Disney characters, Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Park where wild adventures happen, Disney’s Hollywood Studios® with all its show biz magic, and Epcot® with its amazing Future World and World Showcase. Plus, participants receive a special, one-of-a-kind 25th Anniversary Walt Disney World® Marathon commemorative finisher medal and T-shirt.
To join Team Magic, you can register online. The MAGIC Foundation asks that each participant raise $500 via their online fundraising platform. Create your fundraising page, tell your story about why you chose to run on Team MAGIC, include pictures and videos, and share with your family and friends via social media.
Members of Team Magic received discounted park admission for all our participants and their families and friends. Plus, there’s a gala dinner party for all participants and their families on Friday, January 5, 2018. The party is free of charge for all Team MAGIC participants and their guests.
If you or someone you love suffers from hypophosphatasia or other metabolic disorders, join the team and make some magic!
