In recognition of Back to the Future day, the exact date that Marty Mcfly traveled to in 1985, The Micheal J. Fox Foundation and the White House are encouraging speculation of what the year 2045 will bring.
There’s no doubt that significant advancements in medicine and technology have been made in since 1985, when Marty McFly originally started on his journey.
Marty, aka Micheal J. Fox, wrote a letter stating that though it may be optimistic, he’s hopeful that within the next thirty years,
“We’ll find the cures we seek — especially because of all the smart, passionate people working to make it happen. Doctors and researchers around the world are developing new tools to improve the diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases, to tailor treatments — for all illnesses — through precision medicine, and to make life better for millions of people. This truly is the stuff of the future.”
Micheal J. Fox continues by asserting that patients and their families are incredibly important to the advancement of medical research. Advocates working in tandem with scientists towards a common goal is creating a bright and hopeful future.
“Together, we’ll make neurological illness a thing of the past.”
“And if we all eventually get hoverboards, well — that’s a bonus.” -He adds.
