How to Help This Inspiring Non-Profit Supporting Families Facing Devastating Diagnoses

Earlier this year, Patient Worthy featured Ashley and her non-profit Love Not Lost – an organization that provides portrait sessions and photo albums for families dealing with a terminal illness – at zero cost.

The purpose of this good work is to provide families with tangible memories and keepsakes to cushion the inevitable grief that comes with loss.

Ashley – who is a photographer – was inspired when dealing with her own loss, her daughter Skylar from the rare disease spinal muscular atrophy Type 1.

If you were touched by Ashley’s story and worthy crusade, then here’s your chance to show your support – and get your hands on some fun gifts while you’re at it!

On Thursday, March 1st – Love not Lost will be hosting its third annual auction to raise money for the organization’s effort.

These yearly auctions are the cornerstone of Love not Lost’s fundraising apparatus – and sets the tone for the whole year’s mission. This year’s theme is “LOVE Atlanta” – so Atlanta-area readers have an extra reason to be excited.

But for those of you who are not in the area – fret not! Anyone can bid from the comfort of their couches or cars using the mobile app HandBid.

Items up for auction all have Atlanta themes – artwork from local artists, Atlanta experiences and excursions – as well as the usual goodies like jewelry, wine, and more.

In addition to raising money to provide these photography sessions and photo albums, Love Not Lost is hoping to raise money for software to track donations, manage volunteers, and overall workflow improvement.

Since its inception in 2016, Love Not Lost has grown, and this year, Ashley has a goal of raising $40,000.

“Not only will it be a fun night to celebrate what we’ve accomplished in the past year with live painting from an Atlanta graffiti artist and other entertainment, but it’s going to be full of meaning and purpose,” says Ashley. “Our guest of honor is a Love Not Lost recipient who will share what their experience has meant for their family, and you’ll learn about our vision to expand our Atlanta base to grow to a national level.”

“One of the easiest ways to help is to think about people you know who might be interested in getting involved (as a volunteer, corporate sponsor, donor, etc.) and introducing us. It sounds so simple, but can make a HUGE impact. If you know of someone, please connect us via email at [email protected] and follow us on social media @lovenotlostorg.”
