The EveryLife Foundation has initiated a scholarship fund to help those with rare conditions pursue their academic dreams. These will be one-time awards of 5,000 dollars. Up to 32 patients will be selected and awards will go to the Spring 2021 academic semester. The scholarship has been called the #RAREis Scholarship Fund.
This scholarship is funded by Horizon Therapeutics.
Eligibility
- Over 17 years of age
- Residents of the U.S.
- Diagnosed with a rare disease
- Treatment status is not a stipulation
What the Money Can be Used For
The scholarship can be used for any of the following coursework:
- Vocational-technical school course
- Undergraduate course
- Graduate course
- Stand alone accredited course
Application
To apply for this scholarship you must submit the following-
- Recent transcript
- Diagnosis Verification Form
- Essay
The essay must be under 2,000 characters. The prompt is-
“What do you aspire to be and do in the rare disease community and how will this scholarship help you achieve those goals?”
The essay is a large component of the selection process. In addition, academic performance, community participation, work experience, and financial need will be evaluated.
Deadlines
Applications must be submitted by August 28th at 3pm Central Standard Time.
