Bonair Daydreams Designs Cards for Every Circumstance and Every Human Emotion

Bonair Daydreams, an inspirational cardline, was founded by a woman who understands human emotions and exactly what
words to say in every moment of joy, grief, pain, and hesitance.

27 years ago, Chrissy Marsh lost her sister, Tracy, to cancer. She explains, “We were soulmates, and her death was an incredible loss to me.” This loss inspired Chrissy to use her artistic talent and way with words to provide vehicles for others to express themselves, inspirational greeting cards.

The Beginnings

Chrissy had always had a love for photography. She says, “I photograph everyday people and everyday moments and I try to make the ordinary extraordinary.” She thought many times about starting a card line to combine her photos and favorite quotes. But until 1993 when Tracy died, she never took action.

The card Chrissy made to thank those who attended Tracy’s funeral combined a picture of her dancing on a rooftop with Ecclesiastes 3:4 “A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance.” Tracy’s loved ones adored the card. Chrissy felt this was a sign to finally create her business in Tracy’s honor. To this day, Tracy’s card remains one of the best sellers at Bonair Daydreams. She knows its Tracy reminding her that she is her guardian angel.

Tracy’s Card (105)

Every card uses Chrissy’s own handwriting and aims to capture specific feelings, emotions and moments. She chooses images which demonstrate the fragility and intimacy of the human experience.

What started with just one small gift pack and a credit card loan has turned into a nationwide business with 10-12 new designs every year. To date, the company has won 7 LOUIE AWARDS and out of thousands of cards at The National Stationery Show in NYC, 18 Bonair Daydream designs have been chosen as finalists.

Every card is meant to be a reminder that “life is a celebration of the soul.” They capture every human moment, the simple everyday blessings, the life-changing moments, the hard times, and the daily joys.

More About the Founder

Chrissy grew up in Pennsylvania on a street called Bonair Drive. She explains, “Bonair Daydreams symbolizes the inspiration and joy I lived as a child. My hope is that my cards and memories bring you a touch of joy as well.”

Chrissy went to San Diego State University to study TV and Film. She then moved to LA to begin her career in cinematography where for 8 years she worked for a wide array of companies including People Magazine, CBS, PBS, National Geographic, United Way, and more.

Now settled in Wilmington, North Carolina, Chrissy lives with her beloved rescue dogs (she says every day is bring your pet to work day). Her two daughters Annie and Lily, as well as her mom Annella, all help Chrissy with the business.

In total, there are more than 500 cards to choose from. There is something for everyone and something for every occasion. Not only that, but there are new designs each and every year. Chrissy says, “it brings me great joy to not only create new images, but to reminisce over past photos of my two daughters growing up, my beloved pets, past and present, old friends and new friends, and kind strangers that have allowed me to share their photos on the front of my cards. Focusing on everyday life and how stunning it can be, I continue to strive to make the ‘ordinary extraordinary’ with the grace of God and the beauty of this wide, wide world we call life.”

Bonair Daydreams and Rare Disease

There are many circumstances in a rare disease journey where words are hard. It’s difficult to know how to support someone who is undergoing a plethora of tests but has yet to find answers, someone who is recently diagnosed with a rare condition, someone who is undergoing difficult treatment, or someone who is facing issues with insurance. The rare disease journey is unique to every patient, and it’s never an easy one.

When the words escape you, Bonair Daydreams cards can provide the words for you. Their Encouragement category, Thinking of You category, and their Comfort category offer some beautiful options when a standard get well card just won’t cut it.

Losing her own sister to cancer, Chrissy understands what it’s like to watch someone you love go through a difficult health journey. Her cards are now making it easier to find ways to support and encourage your own loved ones through their struggles, joys, and innately human moments.
