Milenia Makani is an abstract artist living in London. She lives with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), and has launched an international art fundraiser to support medical research through the Ehlers-Danlos Society.
The campaign aims to leverage original artwork shaped by lived experience with EDS in order to increase global awareness about the reality of living with the condition, including decades of unexplained, multisystemic symptoms diagnostic delay and significant gaps in medical understanding and care. The initiative brings together art, chronic illness advocacy and , rare disease awareness and research funding, as 50% of all proceeds are donated to the Ehlers-Danlos Society to fund medical research into EDS for the month of May- Ehlers-Danlos Awareness month. All paintings ship free of charge in order to make participation accessible internationally.
More information about this initiative as well as all available artwork can be found on Milenia Makani’s website which is fully dedicated to this fund raiser.
